Haven't posted for ages...
So thought I would. Am having a day off work today because have been feeling a bit grotty, I actually bailed out yesterday and left a lesson half way through which wasn't good so I'm on the sofa in my 'jamas, thinking about starting the washing up. Life has been plodding along, the main isssue being my eys still playing up. Although I have had a bout as much laser surgery as it is possible to have and the consultant on Monday said I still have enough peripheral vision to drive and it may be finally starting to slow down, there is a chance of a further operation but they don't know if I'll need that yet, fingers crossed! We still have a buyer for our house who wants to move in at the end of January, but we haven't found a place to go to yet, there have been a few possibles and we've been putting in really low offers because of market drops etc but no definates yet. Christmas is looming and I'm really looking forward to it this year, we're taking Harry on the Santa Steam special which he'll love as his main words at the moment is 'choo choo'. I'm also hoping to get up for Christmas wendyhouse as I haven't been in ages and feel it's about time I sorted that out! Brief update
Don't expect I'll get to write much as I am at the in laws, sneaking off for ten minutes to play silly games on facebook:) Felt I needed to post though and thank everybody who made this past weekend so fantastic. It was lovely to see so many people for drinks on Friday night, in town on Saturday and of course at Wendyhouse. He can now officially walk on his own! It's well scary and impressive at the same time. He has a big bruise on his forehead where he headbutted the fireplace, oops. Fantastic weekend
Blimey that was fun! I am absolutely knackered but it was comletely worth it. Wendyhouse was immense and it was so great to be back, I've really missed it, and all the people too!:) Highlights were being called hot by a random punter even though I was wearing a Thomas the Tank engine party hat and glasses (not my best look) dancing to S club and Britney and the cheering and singing at the end! Oh and I'm still giggling about Annie cutting the cheese when we got home! (long story:)) Today was hard going, I was in charge of taking 200 Year 8's to Bodmin Moor,yikes. Didn't leave any behind as far as I'm aware so I think it counts as a success! I was going to write loads about 10 Years of wendyhouse but I'm far too tired and I want to download my pictures. In other news, Harry finally got his EEG (brain wave) scan done properly last week but we have to wait three weeks for the results. I'm having more laser and needles stuck in my eye on Thursday but the good news is I get a couple of days off work to recover and then it's bank holiday!! Hooray. We had a fun half hour of me pushing him round the garden on a little plastic truck while he screamed with laughter this afternoon which made all the rubbishness of work go away:) Sorry for this post being a bit 'stream of conciousness' I'm still not functioning properly. laptop fixed
I've been out of order since i fell over the wire and yanked the usb wire out he back, all fixed now but haven't been able to get on tinterweb at home for a while. important thing i need to remind you all of is wendyhouse this Saturday and hoping that as many of you as possible will be there. I haven't managed it since last August and require much support and hugs! ( Feeling most worried strangely about having to wear glasses in a nightclub!) Hi guys, sorry I 've been slack of late. Things have been going well, my eyes seem to be working a lot better and the DVLA are still letting me drive. Harry's been ok, apart from a few colds and puking all over me twice this week, nothing more drastic has happened. The MRI scan was clear so no brain trauma but we've not been able to get a clear EEG yet because he won't lie still! Going back for a third attempt in a couple of weeks. We're trying to sell the house still, have reduced the cost by 15 grand but the one we want to buy have accepted an offer 15 grand under the asking price so should work out if someone buys ours!! Booked it!
I'm officially coming to Wendyhouse in May! Hooray. I can't beleive it's been 10 years! Blimey. So this is hopefully enough notice for everyone to make sure their schedules are free that weekend (17th May) as I can't wait to catch up with everyone ( although Fleur, I'll forgive you if you're a bit busy!) In other news, we got the results of Harry's MRI today and it all seems normal which is great and the opthalmologist is still happy with my recovery. I've got a visual field test next week to see if I'm allowed to keep driving, fingers crossed! Thank F**k that's over with! This January has officially sucked arses!:) My recovery is continuing, went to see the consultant again yesterday who seemed pleased with my progress and took a picture of the back of my eye with a camera that cost the same as a porsche. He says it'll be a month at least until we can tell whether my vision will be any better than it was before, but hopefully it won't be any worse. It still hurts like hell! Hopefully the rest of 2008 will be loads better. I can't beleive it's February tomorrow which means Harry's nearly one! That was quick!! This time last year I could barely move due to a very large baby bump, a seriously hurty back and huge ankles. Now I have a big fat monster to look after (except for when he's been kidnapped by his granny like now!:)) Am kind of considering having a party with other little babies but also think it might be a little much this year, what do you lot reckon? | | Sunday, January 27th, 2008 | | 10:52 am |

I survived! I didn't need the gas bubble thing so no staring at the floor for a week, thank God. but I'm still very very sore, can't really move my head and i look like I've been seriously beaten up. The consultant said it went as well as he could have hoped but they won't know what my eye sight will be like long term for a couple of weeks yet, I can't see a bloody thing out of my left eye at the moment. I have hundreds of drops to administer and a pirate patch for night time and a bit of a residual headache, but other than that, I can't really complain. General anasthetic was horrible! I felt like absolute crap when I woke up, I didn't know where I was, I had the worse headache ever and I seemed to have been abandoned. The nurse left me ajug of water and a couple of paracetamol but i couldn't see so I poured the water all overthe table and vommed all over the bed, then they came and helped me!:) I think I got an anti sickness thing and some morphine then! Much better. I slept it off after that and feel slightly more human today all though I've got bruised hands from the canulars (sp?) and a sore throat still(ventilator pipe i think) This morning, harry crawled over to me, pulled himself up on my legs and said 'mum um' which made it all worthwhile!!I'm not allowed to pick him up for a while though. Thank you so much to everyone who sent good wishes, cards, texts and stuff to listen to (will still come in handy as I've found too much reading/looking at screens hurts) I listened to Bill Bailey in the hospital but think I was disturbing the other patients by giggling too much!:) Thank you again,you're all stars! xxx Current Mood:  relieved | | Saturday, January 5th, 2008 | | 9:27 pm |

I'm having the operation, probably within a fortnight. I'm a bit scared, has anyone got any reassuring experiences of general anaesthetics? I've never had one and it's freaking me out a bit, I don't really like hospitals but i suppose it's a necessity. The guy doing the operation is one of the best in the country but he had to tell there is still a chance I could loose my sight permanenetly in my left eye, and if they have to do something during the operation I'll have to face down ( in a special chair) for about a week afterwards, there's about 20% chance of that so I'm trying not to dwell on it. This was all expected, what wasn't was the fact that he says my right eye is progressing the same way quicker than they originally thought so I have to have laser on that next week which really sucks. I just hope it doesn't get as bad as the left one cos I could end up pretty much blind. That is worse case scenario though, there is quite a high chance I won't be allowed to drive anymore though which will make getting to work a bit more hassle.
